Babesiosis is a common co-infection in Lyme disease. The use of artesunate in treating Babesiosis is based on the similarity between the babesia and malaria organisms. Both plasmodium and Babesia are endoerythrocytic protozoa and show a similar life cycle. Based on clinical findings, artesunate was effective in the treatment of babesia.
Clinical Application(s):
Artesunate is the 1st line treatment recommend by the WHO for malaria. It is lethal to the malaria protozoa (endoerythrocytic plasmodium). Both plasmodium and Babesia are endoerythrocytic protozoa and demonstrate a similar life cycle. Based on our clinical findings, Artesunate was found to be an effective anti-pathogen agent for babesia infections.

*In order to remain compliant with new FDA regulations on certain medications, The Zhang Clinic was forced to reformulate Arte-M to include Mag. Stearate as a flowing agent. The main active ingredient remains the same. This will be the first and only product we carry with magnesium stearate. We will continue to offer it for customers and patients that need it and/or prescribed it by their consulting physicians, as there are no suitable alternatives.
Returns
Items must be properly packaged and returned at the customer's expense. We must receive these products unopened, sealed and in new condition within 15 days of receipt. Refunds for unopened items will be issued via your original form of payment. Elena Frid MD PC reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to reject any return that does not comply with these requirements.
