Allicin is the flagship formula of Dr.Zhang’s protocols. It is a molecule Allicin is a molecule inside garlic (Allium sativum L.), with broad antimicrobial activities in the low µM range against Gram-positive and -negative bacteria, including antibiotic-resistant strains, and fungi.
 
In the early 1990s, Dr.Zhang discovered that Allitridi, Allicin's precursor, is a much more chemically stable compound and metabolizes into Allicin once it enters the gastrointestinal system. Therefore, Allitridi is the key to maximizing the immune supportive effects of Allicin.
 
Clinical Application(s): 
 Lyme Disease, the primary anti-spirochete/wide-spectrum antimicrobial agent used in the Zhang Protocol. Allitridi's small molecular weight (162.27) gives it the ability to effectively penetrate the blood brain barrier and deal with CNS/neurological symptoms.
Bacterial infections. Suppresses gram positive and negative bacteria.
Fungal infections, Candidiasis and deep fungal infections:
Beneficial in supporting the central nervous system.
 
Benefit(s):
Allitridi, a proprietary garlic derivative, has been a standardized wide-spectrum antimicrobial treatment for both systemic bacterial and fungal infections in the PRC for the past three decades.
Allitridi is the chemical precursor to the Allicin compound and metabolizes into Allicin after ingestion. It is significantly more stable and less prone to decomposition, which maximizes its bioavailability and therefore, antimicrobial effects in clinical applications.
